Percy pointed to his prefect's badge and SAID he was taking points
from Gryffindor, but we have no evidence that points were actually
lost. Percy may have just been trying to scare H/R/H. This could be a
common ploy among prefect to control underclassmen. Something as small
as 5 or 10 points would be hardly noticed on the points total boards
(they are very large hour glasses). And certainly could not be notice
unless you were standing right next to the board when the points were
taken.
Just a thought.
