Now me -

who's to say he didn't play both? He may have started as a seeker like Ginny
and then moved to a position as Chaser. If chaser was the position he played
in longest/was best in then people would say he was a chaser even though he
had preciously played Seeker. Either way playing with a snitch doesn't
confirm or exclude him as chaser. Frankly I think he was just showing off
his reactions, something which are necessary in any position on the team,
and a snitch just happens to be more convenient to carry around with you
than a quaffle or, merlin forbid, a bludger?
