I'm new to this board and I've really enjoyed lurking for a bit. It's
terrific to read posts about the Potter books that are spelled
correctly, grammatical and are not concerned with who marries whom.
I have a question that has driven me crazy for three years. I've
searched the board for previous posts and have come up empty-handed
even though I can't believe that someone hasn't thought about this
before.
My question is where did Voldemort get his wand? In the graveyard
scene in GoF, there's a visual history of the wand's spells when it
connects with it's brother wand in Harry's hand. It is the same wand
used to kill the Potters and it is next used to kill Bertha Jorkins.
So, how did it get from Godric's Hollow to Albania?
Voldemort could not have carried it out of the wreckage of the
Potter's house. He did not have a body after his curse backfired.
Was someone with him when Voldemort went to the Potter's house? Did
they pick it up and leave a one year old alive in the ruins?
Where was the wand for 13 years while Voldemort languished in some
forgotten forest?
How did it get to Albania?
I would assume it came with Wormtail because it was used on Bertha
Jorkins just after Wormtail returned to his master.
So if it was Wormtail, how did he get it? Was he the one who went to
the Potter's house that Halloween night? And if it was Wormtail,
where did he keep the darn thing for the thirteen years he was
concealed as Scabbers?
I apologize if this has been discussed previously. But I look forward
to your thoughts on this. Is it just a mistake or will we find in
future books that Wormtail is even more loathsome than we thought?
