Maybe his hair is greasy no matter what he tries, similar to how
Harry's hair sticks out every which way at all times? Then no hair
product, magical or muggle could help him. Condemned to a live of
nasty greasy hair. Ugh. For someone who is ridiculously vain about
her nice, soft, pretty hair, it's hard to imagine anything worse.

KathyK (Who agrees with Darrin that he probably just doesn't take
care of himself. Come on, he's a potions master!)
