Hi! When I was finished reading OotP, I wrote up a list (and wow what a
list) of things to watch for in the next two books. These are just a couple
things:
-- More deaths. Who? How?
I think Dumbledore will die in the latter half of book 7. Whether he gets
caught in crossfire, dies of natural ("natural"?) causes, or pulls an
Obi-Wan Kenobi on us, he will die. I also think a Weasley will go, it's just
a matter of which one. At this point, I'd rank Percy, Bill, and Molly in the
top three, and Arthur and Ginny in the bottom two slots, The other four
(Ron, Charlie, and the twins) anywhere in between. This is going to be
nerve-wracking, that's for sure.
-- St. Mungo's.
A favorite charity of Lucius Malfoy and Celestina Warbeck (a "celestial
fake", and we know a name isn't just a name in the WW) sets off alarm bells
in my head. I also think that Bode's get well gift of a Devil's Snare is a
sight more than pure negligence on the part of the healer. In GoF, they were
not up-front about admitting they didn't know anything about Crouch Sr.'s
ilness, and they were quick to offer up an unnamed expert who diagnosed
Harry with psychological problems without ever examining him. Along with
this and the theories that the Longbottoms are either not getting treatment
that they need or are being prevented from getting better, and my own that
the healer-in-training who suggested stitches for Arthur was perhaps being
paid off to keep him out of commission for a bit, something's fishy here.
-- The Quidditch League and Oliver Wood.
I think there was perhaps once or twice where the professional Quidditch
league was mentioned and Oliver Wood wasn't brought up soon after.
Coincidence? Mocking of fandom fangirls? Perhaps. But in QTtA, it says
Celestina Warbeck (a character I don't exactly trust, in case you haven't
noticed :D) recently recorded Puddlemere United's fight song for charity --
St. Mungo's. And what about those Tutshill Tornados? ARE they winning the
league fairly? Will the Quidditch league just be the circus part of "bread
and circuses," or are they something more?
-- The MoM and it's Minister. (*hiss*)
Fudge is going to have to handle this new situation very delicately. After a
year of standing firmly against Dumbledore and the possibility of
Voldemort's return and suddenly admitting they were wrong, there's going to
be quite a few grievances against him. Is he going to be tossed out of
office? Will he continue to be Lucius's puppet, or will that no longer go
on, now that Lucius is supposedly discredited in the wizarding world? Will
he be assassinated? If he is assassinated, who will become the new Minister
of Magic?
Just food for thought. :)
