Good question!  I thought it was neat that they finally revealed 
more about the house points, and where they're collected.  I also 
assume that, in order to award or take away points, the person (who 
I'm sure must have the authorization to do this) simply states "50 
points to Gryffindor", or whatever, and the points just magically 
appear!

I think the Hufflepuff colors are black and yellow, so I'd assume 
that the gems in their indicator would be topaz or some other yellow 
stone.
