I think that Harry must gain control of his emoitions
in order to realize his full potential as a wizard.
I don't know if this has been said before; I haven't
read it in this group.

Look at AD, the most powerful wizard of the time. We
have never seen him loose control of his emotions. I
don't have the exact quote handy, but when he was
deuling with LV in OoP he spoke to LV as if chatting
over a cup of tea.

We already know that you must be able to conjure up
the appropriate emotions in order to work a spell
properly (e.g. happiness for Patronus). If this
holds true for a larger variety of spells, only a
wizard who has total emotioanl control can be a great
wizard.

Does Tom Riddle also have such control over his
emotions? Or does he only have control over his darker
emotions--anger and hatred? Perhaps this will come to
be his downfall. He is not a great wizard at all, but
merely a great dark wizard.

How ironic would it be if the greatest dark wizard in
the last century met his ultimate demise at the hands
of a boggart, because he couln't think of anything
laughable after so many years of enducing terror.
