Excellent analysis; I suspect this is the first time that any of this
has ever made any sense to most of us.

I'm curious, have you read the thread 'The Inheritance'. Originally, I
was trying to determine if anyone thought Harry had any 'right of
inheritance' by being a 'ward' of Sirius's. In a since, by being
Harry's GodFather, Sirius bacame his de facto father. And, from what I
remember (really should read that part), Sirius is the last livng
DIRECT decendant of the Black family line. Relative to inheritance,
Sirius is the immediate decendant of the last person (his mother) to
hold the Black family fortune.

Based on your best guess, who would you say is the nearest living
relative to Sirius's Father and Mother. Although, laws and traditions
come into play, for the moment, I'm just stuggling to decipher who the
nearest relative is.

This seems like it might be one of those situations where, lacking a
direct decendant, the Black family fortune is broken up using some
'blood proportion' (how closely a person is related), and given a
share of the fortune based on the closeness of their relationship.

Of course, we are all hoping for Molly and Arthur to get a substantial
share of the fortune, and hoping for Draco and his mother to get as
little as possible.

I know this may not be something you can or desire to determine, but I
thought I would ask anyway.

Just a thought.
