"Malfoy" means "bad faith. I've always thought that "Lucius" was supposed to 
remind us of "Lucifer," and please note that "Draco" ("dragon") is a 
traditional symbol for the devil (for example, in the Revelation and in 
pictures of St. Michael, St. Margaret, etc. triumphing over Satan).

For this and other reasons I believe that Draco has the potential to be just 
as evil as his father; he just hasn't realized that potential yet. I think 
that a lot of people are going to start showing what they can do in Book 5, 
and it won't just be "good guys" like Neville and Ginny.
