Further to this, "cockroach cluster" is one of the elements in jkr's books that comes directly from another source. 

Cockroach Clusters are "original" to Monty Python from a sketch in the early 70s. That sketch also included Crunchy Frogs (similar to chocolate?) so its possible that she simply homaged two "icky" sweets from a sketch she liked when she was younger.
