I'm sorry I don't remember this happening, could someone find the 
quote for me as my books are about 200 miles away :( .  All I 
remember is Harry seeing the boggart turn into a large silvery orb 
and then being passed back to Neville who defeats it.

Not really as has already been mentioned by Amanda:

However the cockroach may be a nod to the fact that Severus: through 
working for both Voldemort, then as spy for Dumbledor, through the 
continuing years of Vapor-mort and now hopefully till book seven 
during Risen-Voldemort: he can survive anything.
