OoTP book covers & interpretations

This is mostly just a general observation about the book cover: To 
me, the candles don't appear to be circling around the room, at least 
not constantly. Note the absence of any candle images or light behind 
Harry's head. Well, I guess Harry's head is kind of blocking where 
they would be, but I think it looks as if they enter/exit the doors 
rather than coming full circle around Harry.

Anyhoo, the impression I get is that the candles are coming out of 
the door on the left of the cover, swirling around Harry, and back 
through the door on the right.

I haven't really considered the implications for this type of motion. 
What would be the point of sending the candles from one room to 
another? Who is doing it? I'll leave it to fans more knowledgable 
than myself to ponder these questions.
