I understand what you mean: lived in the prefect tense.  However, it 
doesn't read that way to me.  The difference between 'lived' 
and 'survived' implies to me that Harry did more than survive: even 
though he was only a baby he asserted his life by living and thus 
won a victory over the one with the power of death.  It sounds 
slightly religious to me.
