I don't think The map shows only the related people
because:
1- remember it was made for mischief, you don't want
anybody around

2- Barty Crouch was not related to Harry but he saw
him there anyway, the map can't know if who it shows
is in disguise or not

I think the twins saw Peter Pettigrew but just thought
him as a kid they actually haven't met.
