The Lexicon has Sirius listed as a Gryffindor: "Sirius was something
of a rebel from childhood, having been sorted into Gryffindor rather
than his family's more traditional Slytherin."

I'm not sure where the info came from, but the Lexicon has never done
me wrong yet!
