Also, Severus Snape and MWPP are five or six years younger than Lucius
Malfoy (JKR interview giving Snape's age in GoF) and about three years
younger than Bellatrix, whom Sirius hadn't seen since he was Harry's
age (15) until he saw her enter Azkaban (OoP 114, Am. ed.), which
appears to mean that she left Hogwarts at the end of his fourth year
(her seventh). She and the other members of the gang have all left
Snape behind by the time of the prank in his and MWPP's fifth year.
