Why is everyone so convinced the prophecy is correct?

What I find interesting is that only two people handle the prophecy--
Harry and Neville, the ONLY two boys the prophecy could possibly 
apply to.

Apparently, at birth, the prophecy could have applied equally to 
either Harry or Neville. Basically, I believe the prophecy could 
still apply to eityher of them.  I don't think the choice is not 
final yet.
