They  don't seem to be too concerned with security, do they?
I think the main danger with Lockhart is his apparently wide-eyed
innocence. But he has been revealed  as a cold-hearted, calculating,
self-serving opportunist. The kids seem to regard him with slightly
embarrassed contempt. With Lockhart that could be a mistake.

I agree, I don't think he's faking it - now. But as he recovers it may
be a different story, he'll revert  to  type and JKR could get a lot more
milage out of him as a high-nuisance character.

But will she? We can only hope.
