Steffy:
It makes sense to me about Option C.  In PoA, Lupin says that it was 
a foolish mistake to get bitten.  Why would it have been a foolish 
mistake?  Surely not because he accidently got bitten at a young 
age, when he was too young to understand.  Maybe it was foolish 
because he knew not to come too near his father during a certain 
time each month?
