So, how about if Sirius pulls Voldemort behind the Veil while
Voldemort pulls Harry along with him? Now Sirius, Harry, and Voldemort
are all behind the veil.
I once considered an ending where that happened. Inside, or on the
other side of, the veil, Voldemort is attacked by all his victims who
drag him down to the depths of hell. Meanwhile Harry meets his father
and mother for the first time, and gets to hug them. After a long
tearful reunion, his parent and Sirius tell Harry he has to go back
because it's not his time to die.
This does happen to people in real life near death experiences. They
go 'beyond the veil', down a long tunnel of light where they are met
by a loved one or gardian angel. They feel content and free, and are
willing to stay, but the 'angel' tells them it's not their time, and
they fall back through the tunnel and back into their bodies.
So this would occur in roughly the second or third, maybe fourth
chapter before the end of the book, allowing some 'wind down' time for
reflection, exposition, and the epilog.
I'm not saying it will happen that way; it was just a thought that
came to me one night.
