Ah, endings!
Is there anyone who doesn't have a favourite scenario?
But how confident are you that the ending can be predicted?

It's no secret that'd I'd prefer something shocking, violent, with bodies
draped over the scenery and retribution and revenge well to the fore.
Not that I think it'll go that way, but I can dream can't I?

Like SSS, I'm not so enamoured with the veil as the instrument of choice
for the final resolution. Partly because in traditional thinking, with the
'going beyond the veil' concept, the veil is the dividing line between the
living and the dead; death itself comes from other causes. Mind you, it'd
make a great disposal system. Come to think of it, what happens to the
corpses of the dear departed in the WW? Perhaps that is what the veil is
for - to pass them beyond. Certainly the mortal remains of James and
Lily don't seem to be lying around anywhere, do they? No mention of
graves or markers. That's always something I've wondered about - why
Harry has never visited their memorial. A ceremony in the Death
Chamber, friends and relatives filling the banked seats. Hmm, worth
a thought.

Distressingly, the Potterverse is a remarkably clean and tidy place to
snuff it. Most of the fatal spells seem to be free of any blood or obvious
disfigurement - sad that. I have a hunch that the final showdown between
Harry and Voldy (if there is one at all - a low but definite possibility) will
not be a wand-to-wand showdown in Hogsmead High Street; the wand
conflict probably puts paid to that. Some aspect of the 'possession' theory
might come into play - mental conflict rather than physical.

To suit my own tastes I'll probably have to write my own finale. Can't do
it yet, there's bound to be a few casualties among the cast between now
and the end, but fair warning, soon after the final volume hits the streets
the Kneasy version of the resolution, in all it's messy glory will hit the site.
Be afraid, be very afraid!

Kneasy
