Carolyn:
Well, there are quite a lot of descriptions of the kids wearing
ordinary muggle clothes when they are not in uniform robes - all the
Weasley boys for instance.

And what about that motorbike belonging to Sirius ! Ok, its been
enchanted, but where did he get it from ? There's obviously a good WW
market for certain 'cool' muggle items.

It seems to me that the WW has virtually no understanding of muggle
technology (eg scenes when Harry is out with the Weasleys in London,
or when he is collected from Privet Drive in OOP), but they are quick
to adapt and enchant any muggle item they encounter which will come
in handy in their lives. I see no reason why there shouldn't be a
thriving exchange trade, organised by wizards with muggle family
connections. I don't get the impression there are WW factories
anywhere, churning out basic items like furniture or kitchen
equipment.. magic items, yes, but most ordinary things ? [Pauses to
wonder if they have fridges.. or just special chilling charms?]

The Wizarding World Network (WWN) is a peculiar anomaly in all this -
they seem to be sharing the airwaves and using a muggle technology
quite extensively here.

..any excuse to air my muggle liaison theories that no one else is
interested in!
