Was US POA audio modified from UK or US print?

On the other hand, the word "fringe" is used in the Am. audio of OoTP,
though I can't find the place it's used.   I can not remember the word
"bangs" used in any of the books, though I may have overlooked it. 
I noticed that a LOT of vocabulary and expression was not Americanized
in OotP, for which I'm very glad.   

Carol:
Both "hair" (in the quotation cited above by KLMF) and "bangs" are
used in in place of "fringe" in the American edition of PoA. The
"bangs" reference occurs on p. 39: "Harry nervously flattened his
bangs down again." 

IIRC, "bangs" is also used in the earlier books (I'm not sure about
OoP). "Fringe" would be confusing to young American readers in that
context, just as "jumper" for "sweater" would.
