Mike asked:
1) Was Dumbledore's scar mentioned anywhere other than in PS/SS in
the first chapter? The main thing that supports this being useful is
the fact that scars have much importance in the series, and is said
by Dumbledore himself on more then one occasion.

Kathy:
The SS is the one and only time DDs scar is mentioned I believe but it was
what he said to McGonagall that was important. Pg. 15 McGonagall looking at
Harrys scar asks DD Couldnt you do something about itDD replies Even if
I could, I wouldnt. Scars can come in handy. I have one myself

Mike:
2) I can see the CoS coming back, but I don't remember anything
about the pipes or it mentioned in anything but a flashback.

Kathy:
In COS Pg. 301 It was like rushing down an endless, slimy, dark slide. He
could see more pipes branching off in all directions

Mike:
3) Ministry underground, definitely. The Ministry of Magic has
become more and more important as the series go on, and still has
some mysteries about it such as Percy.

Kathy:
The Ministry seems to be where a lot of people feel that the final act will
take place, which is why I seem to shy away from it. It seems a little too
obvious and JKR has never been real obvious about anything she does unless
she needs it to be. I do think some things will happen at the Ministry as
well as at Hogwarts but I think those are most likely to happen in book six.

Mike:
4) Gringotts underground. I do like your theory about this, as we
know that lakes presumeably are portals. (Durmstrang boat in GoF).
However I don't see how this has been mentioned. Can you think of
any more examples where the Gringotts underground has been
mentioned. Specifically the underground though, as I know that
Gringotts has been mentioned slighty in every book.

Kathy:
I liked what you said about the Durmstrang boat, thats one I didnt think
of.
The answer to your question is in a word no. There has been very little
referencing which I think is what drew me to Gringotts. There have however
been small clues from JKR in chats and interviews that seem to me to be a
read between the lines answer. They are not absolute or direct clues
naturally because she likes to answer her questions so evasively. Everyone
interprets JKR differently as they do her books. JKR likes the surprise
attack on her readers. Something that has been mentioned almost in passing
comes back to be of great significance later on. The most obvious example I
can think of would be the disappearing room in Goblet, which became the room
of requirement in Phoenix. Such a small reference and yet it played an
important part. This room by the way was only mentioned once by DD at the
Yule Ball. (I dont think its necessarily true that anything needs to be
reiterated throughout the book to be of importance later on.)

Mike:
I see a somewhat overused Cliche if everyone comes to help Harry
during his final battles, but it would make things interesting. I'm
looking forward to a big clash myself between the DE's/Order Members
& DA. Well, I'd like to see the DA play a bigger part in the
fighting later on.

Kathy:
As to your comment here all I can say is that again, in interviews with the
writer she has stated that a few characters will come back such as: Victor
Krum (she said you would see him in the last book) Moaning Myrtle and Aragog
to name a few. The fact that both sides are recruiting people (half-breeds
and giants) leads me to believe that Harry may have a bit more help in the
finale. We still havent seen that much of Bill Weasley who works for the
bank and very little of Charlie who works with dragons. I do think that a
lot of these characters will play a part in book seven. Tying up all the
loose ends.
