It's all about fulfilling the prophecy. Peter pulled a sword in
Gethsemane, Pilate offered Him a plea bargain, "Let this cup pass
away from me..." etc., etc.; but in the end, a Saviour's gotta do
what a Saviour's gotta do.
I keep remembering a TV profile where JKR says that she is a
practicing Christian and that her faith is one of the keys to the
story. I still hope Harry lives, though.

**Okay, this I really should explain. Unlike Christmas, a syncretic
holiday which, like chicken, takes well to any method of preparation,
Easter is a true religious holiday. Christians really do end up
asking themselves some hard questions about their faith at this time
of year. Sometimes you scare yourself...
