Siriusly Snapey Susan:
Here is where I might have one small quibble, Kneasy. You say DD
will use "whatever means are at his disposal". Are you sure of
that? DD had the opportunity to attempt an AK on Voldy in the MoM,
but he did not do it. We don't know what curse he did cast, but it
made Voldy scoff or laugh at DD, did it not? Was DD unwilling to
cross some moral or legal line that night? Or would you say that he
didn't attempt to AK Voldy because he believes that only *Harry* can
pull of an AK on Voldy [the prophecy & all that]? Or some other
reason?

SB4E:

I'm going to weigh in my opinions about DD and why he didn't use the AK on Voldy in the MOM....I think that reason number one is because Harry was there and I don't believe that he wanted Harry to be disillusioned with him any more than he already was by seeing him try to kill him especially... and this is the second reason.....when he knows that the prophecy says that only Harry can destroy Voldy....so what would be the point? He doesn't think that he has the ability to kill him, so why cast it? And because of that, why should he make himself look any worse in Harry's eyes as someone that would readily use an unforgivable? Plus, if as some have theorized, using the unforgivables eats away at you, then why put himself in the position for that to occur if it won't work?
