SS Susan asked:
"Anyway, I'm still curious about the idea of DD & the Unforgivables. You
talked about
his willingness to sacrifice others to the cause and about manipulation of
events, but do you believe DD would use the
Unforgivables himself?"

Sherry replies:

I'm new to the group, just joined a couple days ago. I'm enjoying all the
discussion very much.

So, about DD and the curses. I do think that he would use the curses, if he
felt it was necessary. After all, he even had the fake Moody start teaching
the curses to the students. However, I believe he is not the good guys
version of Voldemort, and I believe he would draw the line at some things.
If he indeed would sacrifice everyone for the sake of his "plan" then he is
no better than Voldemort. He has certainly made mistakes, but that makes me
believe more in his honor and integrity, than if he had not. I am not sure
why he didn't use the AK against Voldemort at the Ministry, but now that the
question has been put into my mind, I'd guess it had something to do with
his belief that it must be Harry who vanquishes the dark lord.
