Siriusly Snapey Susan:
That is, would DD himself use the
Unforgivables? You talked about
his willingness to sacrifice others to the cause and about manipulation of events, but do you believe DD would use the Unforgivables himself?

how 'bout others? *Anybody* care to weigh in on this one?

SB4E:

I'm not sure that I believe that he set the Potters up for their deaths, but I do believe that he (DD) has a plot and he is willing to use whom ever or what ever he deems necessary and he basically says this to Harry in OOTP, but he is human and makes mistakes, which he also admits. As for the unforgivables...I think that DD would use them if and only if he thought that it was a neccessity...meaning that he had no other way to get the job done. I think that the only reason he didn't AK Voldy at the MoM is because he REALLY believes in the prophecy...that there is only one that can defeat Voldy....so why should he do something he doesn't want to do and look bad in front of Harry at the same time? I do believe that DD is cold and calculating at times and *ducks as I say this* I believe that his plot is what led to if not required Sirius' death and as I see it, will either push Severus over the edge and back to Voldy (I hope and really don't think this will happen) or it will
ultimately cause his death, which I think is very possible....but that is just me, because from where I sit, I see him as coldly using Severus without regard to the misunderstood, hurt little boy that still resides within.
