BTW, I was still drafting my post when I was interrupted.  Instead 
of hitting cancel I hit reply.  So I think it came out much more 
abrupt and unfinished than I intended. Sorry.

Based on the wording something like "he was part of a group of 
Slytherins." I think he was in Slytherin, although some have taken a 
stand that he could have been in Gryffindor.
