As to the 'we've already read about', I noticed this little snippet
in PS/SS (UK pb ed, pg 50):
"'How did you get here?' Harry asked, looking around for another
boat.
'Flew,' said Hagrid.
'Flew?'
'Yeah - but we'll go back in this. Not s'pposed ter use magic now
I've got yeh.'"
Of course, Hagrid may have used a broomstick, but when questioned by
Umbridge about his long absence from Hogwarts, he said that he could
not use one because of his size. For the moment I'm taking this as
evidence that he used the motorbike to get to the hut-on-the-rock,
so it is even now most likely still in Hagrids possession (don't
think he left it there).
Just my thoughts.
