The line about giving Sirius his bike back appears to be only in the
American edition. See earlier threads on this topic. Also, Sirius
wasn't living at Grimmauld Place. He left home at sixteen and bought
or rented his own place at seventeen when he inherited some money from
his uncle Alberon or some such name (not to be confused with Neville's
Uncle Algie). In any case, Sirius would not have been at home, and
Hagrid would probably have taken the bike back to Hogwarts.
