I went back and read the post. Very good and I love your answer about 
why they were all at Grimmauld Place. You're right, I wouldn't leave 
them either!

Except that it advances the plot, I do not see a reason for Molly and 
the kids to be at Headquarters all the time.  It seems once school 
starts, Arthur and Molly go back to the Burrow.

Maybe they were using Serius as a sitter while they were being useful.
