Wow! I'm amazed at all this vitriol! Where did it come from? I like
and respect Molly and feel that she's put up with an awful lot. Her
urge to protect her family is only as strong as any mother's would
be! As for the twins, it must be said that they *are* irresponsible!
Any sucesses they've had (as with the joke shop) has been the result
of breaking rules and being lucky enough not to be discovered or by
other people "aiding and abetting" them (Harry). They have given
Molly no reason to trust them and they could just as easily have
ended up in trouble as not, bouncing blithely from one potential
crisis to another, disregarding themselves and other people.
I'm sorry to go on a rant of my own, but selfish disregard for
others and themselves. I know someone who does n't have much regard
for their own safety and does reckless things, much in the manner of
Sirius and the twins. One thinks one would n't mind because "what's
it to do with me" etc, but if you don't take care of yourself it's
awful for others because they have to pick up the pieces. Your first
duty to your friends is to look after yourself. Thta applies even
more to your family. Sirius droive me insane for his refusla to be
responsible and I found myelf hating him for it, even though he's
meant to likeable. I just thought constantly of what a prat he was,
always wanting to do the glamourous jobs and being ruled my his 2
year old "I wanna" tendencies.
Molly is trying to instill routine and keep everyone safe and is
getting very little support, while unsefishly taking on unglamorous
jobs.
