I've often wondered if Ron's accountant-second cousin (the squib they don't
often speak of) is Lily's father or grandfather.  I suppose it could also be
a mother or grandmother; I'm away from my books and can't veryify if the
comment had a specific gender.  At any rate, that would account for the red
hair link.

As for the green eyes, the carved serpent in the COS had green eyes.  (Not
the basilisk, mind you, but the carving.)  That's the only prominent
green-eyed thing I've noticed.
