Carri here...
I think what we are seeing change is Harry's view of Molly. When
Harry first met Molly, he was hungry for a loving mother figure in
his life, and he saw in her, what he had missed, but wished he had.
By the time we reach OoP, Harry is growing up, and is reaching that
age in his teens where young adults strive for independance. He
feels like he can handle more responsibility, and now sees Molly
as "coddling".

Sherrie here:
Actually, I started disliking Molly in GoF - when she started in on Bill over
his hair & earring - & so obviously favored Percy over the other children.
Maybe it's because it reminded me so much of the way MY mother dealt with HER
five children - my allegedly goody-two-shoes siblings got away with murder
(well, all right - not literally), while the two of us who were less conventional
found ourselves the constant target of criticism. (Turns out we're the ones
with the hearts - fancy that, would you?) Not only that, but she still tries
to run our lives - and my BABY sister is now 36... Honestly, when she started
in on the earring, I wanted to slap her silly!
