Why were the kids in Grimmauld Place? (was: Am I the only one)

Well, I thought that it was pretty obvious too, but I wasn't
thinking of the danger of Death Eaters - the kids were free labour!
Yeah, it was important to advancing the plot, but it was also
important that the headquarters of the order become habitable, and
Sirius couldn't do that alone. The place was completley infested
with doxys and boggarts and goodness knows what else! And who would
be more perfect for that job than Molly and her troop of kids? Harry
wasn't really required for the clean-up, so he was left at Privet
drive for his own saftey. Hermione I suppose didn't want to be left
out of the action, and the others probably thought it safer for her
to be there anyway, for reasons already mentioned.
That was my take, anyway, and maybe I'm not digging deep enough -
but if you dig too deep the mine will collapse.
