I knew some LeStranges in high school (in New York). They were 
Italian, I believe; the grandparents may have had accents, but the 
kids certainly didn't.

At one point Karkarov/ff says something like "Dear old Hogwarts!" as 
if he were an alumnus.

And Voldemort, as we know, is a few herbs shy of a potion. Maybe he 
thinks he can start in England and branch out, like the sun still 
doesn't set on the British Empire.
