Carol, you've convinced me that DD did not authorise the Unforgivable 
class.  And I've worked out another possibility, although Khilari's 
is very good.  It's possible DD did learn about the class and called 
Crouch!Moody on it.  After their meeting, C!M agreed to stop classes. 
(Do we know what was taught later in the year?)  

Neither Harry or the reader would know about that of course.  And we 
may never know the truth unless JKR decides to tell us.
