I hope you don't mind me answering that question, Del. DD should have 
told Harry EVERYTHING. Absolutely everything. Of course, not when he 
was eleven, but I truly believe that at the beginning of his fifth 
year was a very good timing.

We would not have the book as it is then :o), but so many disasters 
could have been avoided.

Harry would have known that Voldie would try to pull a  fast one on 
him (he did not start at the beginning of the year, did not he?) and 
had mauch more incentive in learning occlumency, etc.

The truth would have hit him hard, sure, but I kinda think it owuld 
have been easier to bear with Sirius' alive , etc.


By the way, I also don't think that prophecy would necessarily fulfil 
itself with killed or be killed as Harry thinks right now. Does not 
mean he deserved to be kept int he dark at all.
