Carol:
A *very* brief response here--We know from Molly's boggart that she's
terrified that everyone she loves will be killed. IIRC, she has
nighmares about one or more of them dying. Most of those people,
including Harry, are still children in her view. No wonder she's going
overboard into protective mode. She includes Harry as almost her own
child since he has no parents an his guardians are unloving Muggles
who don't understand him. And Hermione's parents are Muggles, too, so
she's included in the protection to some extent. As for Sirius, she
thinks he's being reckless to tell them more than they need to know,
especially since Dumbledore himself has expressed that view. I also
think her fears are in no way unreasonable. She's almost certainly
going to lose at least one loved one.
I think that Molly is doing her best to protect the people she loves
in the only way she knows. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes as VW2
nears. (That clock in the hallway gives me the shivers every time it's
mentioned. I'm waiting for the hand labeled Percy to point to "mortal
peril.")
Carol, who hopes you'll return to your affectionate view of her and
have some compassion for her when the boggart proves prophetic
