This entire theory is based on one quote from GoF.
JKR usually writes very deliberately. So in the Unforgivable Curses
chapter in GoF, something struck me as very prophetic.
Moody is demonstrating the curses and describing the circumstances
under which he is teaching them. During this time he states that he
is only going to show them what the curses look like, and prepare
them so that they can better defend against them.
He states that he has only this year to teach them how to defend
against the curses (much to Ron's dislike).
He goes on to say that the curses are very difficult to cast, and
prods the students to try them on him, saying they would barely hurt
him.
Here's where it gets really good.
He then says "You will not be learning to cast these spells, as I'm
not supposed to teach you to cast these spells until your sixth
year." or something very close to that (exact quote in reply would be
appreciated).
JKR could have had Moody say something more generic like "you won't
be learning those until your sixth year." But she, IMO, very
deliberately had Moody saying that HE would not teach them how to
cast the spells until their sixth year.
Did Dumbledore make arrangements for Moody to teach DADA during the
4th and 6th years, as the students began learning material that he
was best suited to teach - the unforgivable curses?
WILL MOODY BE BACK IN BOOK 6????
