Thanks for the info., Dumbledad - I had never visted the links you 
provided!

For some reason, Rowling's description of how Dementors breeded 
brought to mind 12 Grimmauld Place - its pre-OotP state sounds like 
it was enough to breed a colony of Dementors.

I still stand by my theory of how Dementors were created, though.  :)
