Mel:
Vampires, in the Potterverse so far, have been depicted as
marginalized beings *at best*. They're hardly mentioned in the books
at all (despite what some here might wish) and even in the textbooks
there's nothing more than a passing wave at them.
Which begs the question: are the blood lollies in Honeydukes
*really* for vampires? No one says they're ACTUALLY for them,
someone mentions they might be and the subject is promptly dropped.
I wonder, really, what WOULD happen to the local vampire who
wandered into Honeydukes looking for a treat?
I doubt he'd get red-carpet service; more like every wizard in the
place drawing their wands on the fellow. And maybe rightly so.
So, blood flavored lollipops? Why? Do some wizards just like
grotesque flavors (like the cockroach clusters--although that's no
doubt a joke--a nod to the Monty Python lobby) or are they, I don't
know, bait?
