Carol:
> Speaking of Phineas, the last reference to him in OoP is "Phineas
> Nigellus had still not returned. . . ." (Am. ed. 828). This sentence

>to portrait calling for Sirius and how it might be more important than
>it seems?

Adi:
I think he was gone to make sure that Sirius was alive and
Dumbledore was wrong. But when he finds out that Sirius was in fact
dead, he would be anguished.
As for what happens next, I think he would make others realise the
tragedy, even Sirius's mom. The portraits will then collectively
punish Kreacher. There will be a change of heart and the Order will
be welcomed into the house without grumbling and the house will stop
fighting against the Order. And finally, Phineas will join forces
with Harry to help him with dark arts. After all, he had been the
headmaster of Slytherin! How about it?
Bye
Adi
