I just want to clarify my earlier post. I think that out of all of
James's high school friends, Lupin is the only character that has
matured emotionally. I like Lupin, I just think that he may be
feeling bad about something he did in his youth.
There is a scene in one of the books where Snape tells Harry
(something to the effect of) that people who wear their emotions on
their sleeve are weak. Well I think that Lupin, more so than Snape,
really keeps his emotions in check.
