Bobby: Actually I wasn't bringing in muggle contract law, but just 
common sense.  If JKR is going to bring in something 
so "counterintuitive" (to use Jim Ferer's term) as to obligate Harry 
for something he didn't volunteer for, I would think she would offer 
some explanation of why -- and I think we all agree she didn't do 
that.
