Anyone can sign a contract for you if you give them power of 
attorney. The Headmasters may be understood to have this 
power on behalf of their students.

But that is irrelevant in this case. This was clearly fraud. 
Crouch!Moody  bamboozled the goblet into thinking that the slip 
with Harry's name on it was a legitimate entry and it then 
magically bound him to compete. Apparently the goblet's 
decisions are indisputable.

It probably puts  a pretty hefty curse on anybody who pulls out. I 
can just see Harry going through the rest of his life with WIMP 
tattooed in purple pustules on his forehead.
