<<Well, I also don't buy ESE! Lupin (Sorry, Pippin!) But I also have to
admit that Lupin's deathgrip on Harry bothers me. The reason I find
this scene to be suspicious is that Lupin was waaay too calm for
someone who just lost his oldest friend.
Let's say that Sirius is not really dead. (Indulge me for a
second. :o)) Suppose Lupin was involved from the beginning in
planning of Sirius' dissappearance for some unknown reasons. Yeah
that's it. :) (I can dream, can I?)
If Sirius is really and sincerely dead though, then Lupin reaction
bothers me.>>

Here I go again, delurking to defend my favorite werewolf... my favorite character, really.
I'm sorry, I don't have my books with me at my dorm, but afterwards, doesn't he turn away and, while asking Neville a question, doesn't it "[sound] like every word he said caused him pain?" Paraphrasing, of course. Plus, Remus seems to have done a very good job over the years of learning the proper technique to bottle everything up--keep control, if you will. Perhaps we'll see some grand explosion of feeling in the next book. I think if anyone needs a good cry, it's Lupin, if he hasn't already in private. And a hug. He needs a hug too.
