Mandy here:

Mumm....Lupin discussion is definatly needed. He is too good to be
true imo.

In October 1981 there was a full moon on the 13th. Nowhere near the
31st. However that may not stop JKR from placing a full moon on that
date for the story. We know dates have been fudged a bit before now,
and although it would be convenient, I doubt JKR has based her saga
around the actual dates of the Luna calendar.

Curious as to how Lupin, being a werewolf on the night of Godric's
Hollow, have helped either side? Evil or not I don't think Lupin has
a hold on reason when he is in werewolf mode. Sirius is desperate to
get the trio out of Lupins way when he transforms on PoA, because
Sirius knows Lupin has no control over his behavior as a werewolf.
There is no recognizing and showing a friend compassion. It's hunt
and kill every human he can smell. Perhaps LV used him to as wolf
kill in the past?

cheers, Mandy
