portrated painted. ... I'm sure that he had a suspicion that he would
die sometime (he was on the run from almost everyone in the WW --
...). If he knew things that would've been of help, he might have had
a portrait made so that he could help them if he wasn't around. Even
if he didn't have things that he thought were of supreme importance,
he might've still wanted to be around to give whatever help he could.

I readily admit that that is a possibility, but if we are to accept
the premise, then the question becomes HOW?
How does the most notorious and presumed dangerous criminal of modern
times find an enchanted artist willing to paint his picture?
I could go so far as to see Sirius enchanting some object with one
last monolog of farewell to Harry and his friends (some what similar
to the way Fred and George enchanted the enlarged cover of the
'Quibble' to say things along the line of 'Umbridge sucks'), but I
have trouble with Sirius having the resources to enchant a fully
interactive object (painting or whatever) with his full personality
and intelligence.
Not saying it couldn't happen, but it seems a extreme stretch of the
imagination.
Although, now that we are talking about it, an enchanted object with
one last farewll monolog, or perhaps, his last will and testament
might not be that unlikely.
Time will tell.
